Yes, normally a skip can be placed in your driveway. A skip has roughly the same footprint as a car. However, on some occasions it is not possible to place the skip in the driveway if the road or gate entrance is too narrow to direct the truck onto your property, or if you have low hanging trees or electrical cables over your drive.
Yes skips can be placed over walls or into your garden provided that the delivery truck can get within one metre of your wall or garden and the wall is no more than 1 metre tall.
Yes in some cases a skip can be placed on a public road/pavement provided certain criteria is met. On a public road or pavement in the metropolitan area of Limerick City requires an on-street Permit from the Local Authority. This has to be applied for 48 hours prior to skip delivery. This will be taken care of by Super Skips Hire on your behalf at no extra cost. Delivery location has to be approved by the Local Authority and Super Skips Hire. In some cases it is not possible to place a skip on a public road or pavement e.g. on a narrow road or pavement, bus lanes, taxi rank, pedestrian crossings, double yellow lines or the bend of a road.
Most private and public housing estates are ok.
No you the customer do not need a permit to hire a skip being delivered to your private property. Super Skips Hire hold all the relevant collection/handling permits and licences. These can be found in our Documents section.
Here at Super Skips Skip Hire we recycle 100% of skip waste. Waste no longer goes to a landfill or the rubbish dump – all skip waste is returned to our fully licenced waste transfer facility at Super Skips Recycling Park, Limerick. Once the waste arrives at the facility it is weighed and then goes through a rigorous sorting process by manual and mechanical means.
Different waste materials are sent to other licenced facilities, according to type and size for further processing and recycling.

Each skip has a maximum fill line clearly indicated on its side. If the skip is filled beyond this point it cannot be collected for safety reasons and our driver will ask you to remove some material before he can load the skip.
In general, you should give some thought as to how you will fill your skip. Larger items need to be placed carefully if you are to avoid creating unfilled spaces that stop you getting the most out of your skip.
